Dansk Selskab for Akutmedicin
Akutmedicin er en slags "skadestuemedicin". Fokus er den
allerførste behandling af de kirurgiske og medicinske sygdomme, man ser i
en almindelig skadestue og akutmodtagelse.
Den akutte behandling trænger til et løft af kvaliteten. Derfor er Dansk
Selskab for Akutmedicin stiftet. De kommer fra forskellige specialer og
arbejder på at få dannet et fagområde for akutmedicin.
De håber, at øget fokus på uddannelse og forskning indenfor akutmedicin kan
være med til at højne kvaliteten af behandlingen af akutte patienter i
Danmark.
Dansk Selskab for Akutmedicin vil være et forum for udveksling af viden og
erfaringer.

SARS II
The specific virus has maybe been found. Download guidelines on treatment of SARS. From The Lancet Online.
Malik Peiris from the University of Hong Kong and colleagues studied
50 patients with SARS from five separate outbreak clusters. After
identifying a new type of coronavirus from two patients, they
subsequently found evidence of virus activity in 90% of the patients
compared with 0% for a control group of healthy individuals or those
with unrelated illnesses.
The investigators comment that the new virus is not one of the two
known human coronaviruses.
He comments: "This report provides evidence that a virus in the
coronavirus family is the etiological agent of SARS. However it
remains possible that other viruses act as opportunistic secondary
invaders to enhance the disease progression, a hypothesis that needs
to be investigated further."

Hvordan forbedre akuttmedisinsk forskning og læring i Helse Vest regionen?
Akuttdagene 2004
25-26. november 2004, Solstrand Hotell, Bergen
Formål:
-Akuttdagene VEST er et samarbeidsprosjekt mellom Helse Vest, Akuttklinikken i Helse Stavanger, Universitet i Bergen, Høyskolen i Stavanger og Laerdals Fond for Akuttmedisin.
-Fokus for møtet er hvordan vi kan bedre akuttmedisinsk forskning og
undervisning/læring i Helse VEST regionen.
-Vi ønsker å bringe representanter fra ulike miljøer sammen (prehospital og sykehus, basal og klinisk forskning, pasient- og samfunnssikkerhet, høyskole- og universitetet, ledere, administratorer og klinikere i helseforetakene).
-Målet er å lage konsensus rundt videre satsningsområder innen akuttmedisinsk forskning og læring.
